How to Solve The Economic Mess.

”The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” – Winston Churchill

Perhaps? but then again perhaps not. below is the most common sense solution to the current economic meltdown I have seen. Forwarded to me by a friend and reader of my Blog. Is it practical? Is it effective? Sure seems that way to me.

Can it be improved upon? My uncle advocates sweetening the deal to make it tax free. I would like to see a public service provision added. you receive the patriotic retirement package and you perform a months public service in your community or state?

What other provisions could be added without it becoming too cumbersome,or a product of Washington politicians? I hate to see the beautiful simplicity of this idea bogged down. If it ever got to the house and senate would it pass without looking like war & peace?

What do you think?Patriotic retirement:
There’s about 40 million people over 50 years old in the work force – pay them $1 million apiece severance with stipulations.
1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house/pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.

  2. If I may, here are some additional stipulations to the proposal.
1.) The corporations, businesses, etc, that lose employees due to this offer, must create a job opening for someone off the street. There are internal corporate policies / union agreements, that govern how positions are filled. Having said, that exact position may not be able to be filled from the street. But bottom line creat a job opening for someone off the street, to offset that move.
2.)Not only must the mortgage be paid in full, but any seconds or liens must be satisfield.
3.) Any outstanding credit card debt must be paid off.
4.) A new “American” car must be purchased for every qualified driver in the household.
